This is a picture of all of the figurines in this current series. I must say I'm not real impressed with Scrooge's pose. He looks more like Ludwig Von Drake to me. I think a much better pose would have been one of him entering the office similar to the pin from yesterdays post.
FWIW, I own a very similar statue with almost the exact same pose created in the '80's by Tommorrow Today. The difference is that the colors in the Classics Collection are a little brighter, and that in the Tomorrow Today sculpture, Scrooge's sideburns are actually white - which contradicts the cartoon it was based on, but is right for Barks fans - except that they go around to the back of his head as though Scrooge were "bald." I believe there was also a different statue in the Classic Collection series that actually was a similar pose to the first pin you showed.
ReplyDeleteSome quick research shows you to be correct. The WDCC sculpture that is similar to the pin was a 2000 LE exclusive which explains why I've never seen it. A search for Tomorrow Today didn't come up with anything relevant. I'm not familiar with the company.
ReplyDeleteI guess they really couldn't use that pose for this scene anyway since it happens in a differnet part of the movie.
