DuckTales Pin Set

This framed DuckTales pin set (Webby and Donald are pins) was released at the 2003 Pin Celebration held at Epcot Center. It was limited to only 25. The art is by Keri Murphy and it originally retailed for 125.00. Interesting that Daisy is pictured. I don't recall her ever being in DuckTales. Of course, Donald was barely in it, himself.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

This oil painting by Carl Barks was created in 1972 and released as a lithograph in 1999 by Another Rainbow and used on the back cover of Uncle Scrooge #318 comic book. Merry Christmas everyone.

Spotted this on ebay but I'm too Scrooge like to spend the $90 asked. Not much info offered. Appears to be a die-cast car from Itlay by a company named Politoys. I wonder if it's too late to write Santa.

This bell ornament was released by Grolier in 1999.

This Christmas ornament is part of the Avon gift collection line. Probably from 1992.

Scrooge McDuck Money Keychain

Discovered on ebay, this Scrooge McDuck keychain with McDuck money is from the Tokyo Disneyland Resort.

Store Display

This display figure from a Disney Store window display recently sold for 811.00 on ebay. I thought that was a little low for a Scrooge figure that is obviously in really good shape, but then I read the description and noticed his glasses are missing. Congratulations to the seller and winner. Wish I had that kind of money to throw around (and let it hit me on the head).

Original Don Rosa Art

This preliminary sketch for a comic book cover by storyteller extroadinaire Don Rosa recently sold for 510.00.

The artwork was first used on 2001. It has never been used as a cover in the US but this is what it looked linke in Denmark and Finland.

Time for a swim

It's not often the Walt Disney Classics Collection makes sculptures that aren't based on a film, but such is the popularity of Carl Barks comic book creations. This figurine is based on one of his all-time best stories "Only A Poor Old Man".
It was first available in 2004 and is still available. It retails for 199.00.

Scrooge is a Libra

According to this pin, Scrooge is a Libra. Who knew? This jumbo pin is one in a series of 12 featuring various Disney characters as symbols of the zodiac. It is a limited edition of 300 and the original retail was 14.95.

Scrooge McDuck hires Chip n Dale

I'm fairly certain Chip n Dale have never worked for Scrooge in any story I have ever read. This 3" Jumbo pin from DisneyShopping.com tells a different story however. It is a limited edition of 300 and sells for 16.95. It was released in 2008.

I guess it makes sense that Scrooge would hire Chip n Dale. We all know they will work for peanuts.

Scrooge McDuck Snowglobe

This wonderful snowglobe is currently available on DisneyShopping.com for 59.50 or less depending on your discounts. This snowglobe was originally available 2003-2004 for about $20 more then it what it is being sold for in 2008.

This is a picture of all of the figurines in this current series. I must say I'm not real impressed with Scrooge's pose. He looks more like Ludwig Von Drake to me. I think a much better pose would have been one of him entering the office similar to the pin from yesterdays post.

Scrooge vs the Ghost of Goofy

Scrooge's greatest movie role was when he played Ebeneezer Scrooge in the cartoon featurette "Mickey's Christmas Carol" This wonderful pin shows Goofy as Ebeneezer's deceased partner Jacob Marley confronting a terrified Scrooge.
This pin is a limited edition of 100 and is part of a 6 pin set that sold for 139.95 on DisneyShopping.com in 2008.

What's In a Name

I tried to name this blog simply "Scrooge McDuck" but it was allready registered with blogspot. I then tried "Uncle Scrooge" and then "Money Bin" with no luck. There are no blogs with these names but all three of those names are unavailable.
So, I guess I'm stuck with the rather lengthy "Scrooge McDuck's Money Bin"
The focus here will be to showcase anything with Scrooge on it so maybe I should have called it Scrooge McDuck's merchandise bin but that would have made it even longer!
