Money Bin

The ebay auction I got these pics from was in another language so I don't know anything about this except what is in the pics. At first I thought maybe it was a playset but the back view makes it look like a bank. Most kids would use it as both.

Beagle Boys Puppet

This hand puppet from europe is really neat. I'm guesing there was at least a Scrooge one also. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a whole series with Gyro, Magica, etc?

The first one?

This pin is part of the Coke set that was issued in various boxed sets during the 15th anniversary of Walt Disney World. I'm pretty sure that this is the first american Scrooge McDuck pin having been made before the current Disney pin craze was created in 2000, but are there ones from other countries, where Scrooge is much more popular, that are earlier then this?

Scrooge Pewter train car

This pewter figurine was made by Hudson Pewter and is one of several pieces featuring Disney characters that can be hooked together as a train. The wheels really work.

The Miser's Voice

This is a publicity picture of Scrooge's voice Alan Young. Issued while Duck Tales was in production it would have been used as part of a publicity kit or produced for autograph sessions.

Another cool tie

Who knew there wer so many Scrooge McDuck ties? I like this one the best so far. It is currently on ebay for a very reasonable price. I'm not going to bid since I will probably never wear a tie in my entire life.

Scrooge McDuck Rubber Doll

Here we have a rubber squeeze toy from Portugal and Germany.

Scrooge McDuck, Treasurer

The Disney theme parks have been letting the guests exchange their currency for Disney Dollars for over twenty years. Scrooge McDuck has never been depicted on any of the various bills but his signature is on each and every one as the treasurer.

Fit To Be Tied Again

Here's another great example of classy neckwear.

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

These little figures are actually collectible thimbles made by Lenox. I imagine these are part of a series of Disney characters but haven't been able to verify it.

Here's another fine example of a Scrooge McDuck buckmobile. I got the picture from the italian ebay site and not speaking italian I know nothing about it.

Mickey's Christmas Carol Figurine

Made by Grolier in 1983 as a limited edition of 15,000.
I wonder if someone made alimited edition of 100,000 if people would still buy it just because it is "limited". This is a very nice figurine. I'm just making fun of the edition size.

DuckTales Bendy

A Scrooge McDuck bendy toy made by Justoys. I don't know how many DuckTales bendies there were but I know I've seen a Beagle Boys one as well.

Keep It Under Your Hat

Uncle Scrooge McDuck hides a bag of gold under his hat in this fiurine sculpture. I believe this figure is from the late 70's or early 80's. It looks to me like it is part of the gift line that was marketed out of Walt Disney World but I could be wrong.

All Aboard The Money Train

This Scrooge McDuck train is from Italy and that's all I know about it except that Italy seems to have some pretty cool Disney toys.

Uncle Scrooge figure from Russia

Kelloggs Premiums

I forget what year exactly these are from but it must have been early on during the Disney Afternoon since Gummi Bears were still part of the show. Probably from the first year the programming was called Disney Afternoon. There were 16 figures given away in various kelloggs cereal boxes and you could send for sets as well. This is apparently one of the sets because I have never seen any in packaging before. There was 1 figure in each cereal box and of course there was no way to tell which figure you would get.
I'd love to see the Disney cereals do something like this with a never ending series of figures. Unfortunately they rarely put anything in cereal boxes anymore and the Disney cereals especially seem to think just having colorful pictures on the box is enough to sell cereal for outrageous prices. Someday, parents will start cooking breakfast again because it's cheaper then buying cereal.
